The Great Depression

We have been learning about the Great Depression in preparation for our novel study Bud, Not Buddy.  What lessons do you think we learned as a country as a result of these hard times?  Do you think our country will ever face anything like this again? Why or why not?

I am so excited for the new year to begin.  I am really excited to be teaching fifth grade this year and even more excited to be teaching reading.  I must say it is one of my favorite things to do.  I know that the reading we will be doing this year will take us places we never dreamed of.  I hope you have been reading this summer!  Now you can tell me all about what you are reading, and make recommendations to your classmates right here on our new class blog!
